Indie Sewing Patterns | July 2019 | First Impression Review
Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today, I am so excited to share with you my first impression review of some indie sewing patterns that I recently purchased in July 2019. As a passionate seamstress, I am always on the lookout for new patterns to add to my collection and these ones really caught my eye.
The first pattern that I want to talk about is the ‘Evelyn Dress’ by an indie pattern company called Sew Over It. This dress immediately caught my attention with its vintage inspired design and classic silhouette. The pattern came with clear instructions and all the pieces were well labeled, making the cutting process a breeze.
As I started sewing the dress together, I found that the fit was true to size and the pattern was well drafted. The instructions were easy to follow and I was able to complete the dress in just a few hours. The end result was a beautiful, well-fitting dress that I know I will get a lot of wear out of.
Next up is the ‘Tania Culottes’ by Megan Nielsen Patterns. Culottes are a staple in my wardrobe, so I was excited to try out this pattern. The instructions were well written and the pattern pieces lined up perfectly. I chose a lightweight rayon fabric for my culottes and they turned out beautifully.
The fit of the culottes was very flattering and the elastic waistband made them comfortable to wear all day. I love the flowy silhouette and the versatility of this pattern – I can dress it up for a night out or keep it casual for a day at the office. Overall, I am very happy with this pattern and will definitely be making more in the future.
Lastly, I want to discuss the ‘Adrienne Blouse’ by Friday Pattern Company. This pattern features a stylish mock neck and gathered sleeves, giving it a cool and modern look. The pattern was easy to tape together and the instructions were clear and concise.
I chose a lightweight cotton fabric for my blouse and the fit was perfect. The mock neck is a fun detail and the gathered sleeves add a touch of drama to the overall look. I can see myself wearing this blouse with jeans for a casual day out or dressing it up with a skirt for a more formal occasion.
In conclusion, I am very impressed with the quality and design of these indie sewing patterns. Each pattern was well drafted, the instructions were easy to follow, and the end result was a beautiful garment that I can’t wait to wear. I highly recommend checking out these indie pattern companies for your next sewing project – you won’t be disappointed!
